CGL Facades PPC Rainscreen, Wallplank and Coping system

Located in a rapidly-improving area of East London, Enderby Wharf is a large residential development that comprises of six blocks that will provide 770 apartments of various sizes, each with a balcony or terrace. The development is situated on the River Thames, with 200 metres of river front offering uninterrupted views towards Canary Wharf and the City.

This represents CGL’s largest project to date, with over 20,000m2 of secret fix PPC Aluminium Rainscreen, 3000m2 of our wallplank system used in the soffit areas and over a mile of our clip on coping between the six blocks on the project. The first two phases are complete and work is to start on the remaining two blocks in June 2016, with completion due in early 2017.

CGL’s powder-coated aluminium cladding products have been used to protect the new building from the surrounding marine environment; the Thames Estuary is categorized as saltwater and so buildings need to have sufficient protection. This type of Rainscreen cladding is guaranteed to last over 25 years in this environment. This Rainscreen cladding has allowed for two architectural twists; small ‘fins’ on the side of the building and perforated Rainscreen on the balconies. This has provided an interesting challenge for CGL and Merson Group, and we are delighted to be a part of the regeneration of East London.
