CGL Traypanel System

The state-of-the-art Cancer Centre at Queen Mary Hospital in Sidcup, Kent has been built to provide local cancer patients with the opportunity to be treated closer to home. The new centre offers pioneering treatments alongside ground-breaking research, helping to improve cancer care and outcomes for patients. CGL Facades were awarded the contract to design, manufacture and install the cladding system at this exciting new development. The aluminium polyester powder coated panels chosen for this project are CGL’s Traypanel system. The tri-coloured panels are supported by the CS1 grid, enabling air to constantly circulate, forcing any moisture that penetrates the joints of the cladding panels out before it reaches the building structure behind. The use of a robust, lightweight and impervious material like aluminium means that the building is protected from the elements all the while creating an aesthetically pleasing, efficient and low maintenance facade.
