Tony

Tony heads up the CGL Facades and Gutters projects team. He has over 25 years of manufacturing and project management experience and has helped deliver some of CGL`s most prestigious projects to date.After gaining anHNC in engineering in 1996, Tony joined CGL and completed a 4-year apprenticeship in sheet metalwork.

He carried out further roles and responsibilities in the work shop before moving into project management, helping to structure and develop the team, leading to his promotion as Director in 2021.

Tony enjoys running and keeping fit at the gym. He is an avid rugby fan and enjoys supporting his daughter and son who both play the sport.

Stuart

Stuart is responsible for bid management, commercials and is heavily involved with product development and product testing for the CGL facades business. He has been with the business since he was 18 years old and has over 25 years’ experience in the industry.

Stuart started with the company as an apprentice draughtsman. Since then he has taken on various management roles over the years from, project manager to division manager and has recently been promoted to commercial director.

In his spare time, he enjoys running and watching his son play for the local football team.

Jim

Jim has recently joined CGL and is currently responsible for growth within CGL Facades division and in particular their Rainscreen/Cladding systems.

He brings over 35 years industry experience which include roles such as – Estimator, Sales, Senior Estimator, Commercial Manager, Technical/Sales Director. Jim has been involved in project specification development, offering technical and commercial solutions for a number of prestigious projects.

Jim first entered the Cladding Market in 1983 following his graduation in Building Management.

Away from work Jim enjoys playing Golf, socialising with his large network of family and friends. He has recently become a Grandad and loves spending as much time with his Granddaughter Ella.

CGL Facades Team

Facades Team
Rachel joined the CGL Systems team, within the facades section of the business, in June 2021. Currently, in the role of projects assistant, Rachel supports the project managers on the cladding projects. She raises orders, assists with job packs (from creating them, issuing them to production and logistics to inputting the relevant information) and liaises with customers and suppliers.
Before joining Merson, Rachel worked in the challenging facilities management sector, carrying out daily admin duties and focusing on building good customer relations.
When the working day is over, Rachel enjoys attending the gym and going out walking, a great way to clear the mind.
Facades Team

Catherine currently works with our cladding division within CGL Systems. She manages and coordinates each project, and she has the responsibility of ensuring each one runs as smoothly as possible, from fabrication drawings to deliveries to sites, with the support of the team under the guidance of the Senior Project Manager.

After graduating with a second-class honors degree in product design engineering, Catherine started in CGL in 2021, as a projects assistant and has since made the progression to project manager.

When not at work, Catherine enjoys weight training at the gym.

Facades Team

Shaun oversees the CGL Facades projects team. He has 10 years of project management experience and has helped CGL deliver some large-scale projects throughout the years.
He is responsible for the day to day running of the live order book, taking projects from order placement stage through to product delivery along with everything in between.
After graduating with a master’s degree in Architectural Engineering back in 2010, Shaun worked on a few local construction sites before joining CGL in 2013. Shaun enjoys the problem-solving element of the job and the different challenges that each project presents itself with. He works closely with the Estimating and CAD CAM departments and is heavily engaged with the shop floor. This helps aid in the smooth running of each project through to completion.
When not working, Shaun enjoys cycling. He enjoys most sport but is a keen Golf fan and has been known to take his holidays around the Major golf tournaments.

Nigel joins us with over 20 years of experience in the interior & exterior envelope sector of construction, working with large organisations throughout his career.
Nigel has specific industry knowledge of the through wall construction elements.

A strategic recruitment for CGL Systems, based on his product and construction experience.

Nigel’s appointment further strengthens our expanding Business Development team, Nigel will focus on specification development of our Rainscreen solutions across London and the South.

Nigel is based in the South, just outside London.

Facades Team

Olly currently works in the sales and estimating department within CGL. His main responsibility is to produce quotations from client enquiries. He liaises and maintains good communication with clients to promote positive relationships.
After leaving college, Olly spent time honing his skills in a trade on-site before deciding to focus on a career in bid management.
He gained invaluable experience from his background in the glazing and cladding business before he joined CGL in 2021.
Outside of work Olly enjoys going for walks, spending time with the family and is very fond of travelling.

Facades Team

Denice has been with CGL since 2003 coming from a similar company within the construction industry. Current responsibilities include estimating rainscreen cladding tenders which are then followed up and negotiated to orders.
Starting out as a sales co-ordinator, Denice has held several roles including director’s PA and has worked within internal sales before taking up her current position back in 2013. She has gained vast technical, sales and commercial knowledge of rainscreen façade systems during her involvement in small to large scale projects.
Amongst Denice’s skills are her attention to detail and her customer service, always striving to meet requirements in a timely and accurate manner.

When she is not busy with her kids, Denice enjoys amateur dramatics and running in her spare time.

CGL CAD/CAM Team

CGL CAD/CAM Team

Leigh heads up the CGL Facades CAD/CAM team. He has over 26 years of experience in rainscreen product manufacturing and has helped deliver some of CGL’s most prestigious projects.

Leigh joined CGL in 1995 as a draughtsperson. He then moved on to flat development of parts and programming the CNC punch.

Throughout the years he has gained experience within estimating and order processing, before landing back to head the CAD/CAM team.When not working, Leigh enjoys running in the warmer months (July to August). He has a real interest in music and has collected vinyl records for many years.

CGL CAD/CAM Team

Jay is part of the CAD/CAM team, helping manage the team occasionally. He has over 10 years’ experience in design and manufacture and metal fabrication. Helping develop some of CGL’s projects over the past 7 years has been a key part of the role.

After his welding apprenticeship, Jay went back to college to learn CAD skills. After graduating college with a HND in manufacture and design, he then went to work in the oil and gas sector as a piping and instrumentation designer, working for one of the largest engineering companies in Europe. He worked on projects spanning from Africa to the North Sea.

On returning home from Aberdeen to Glasgow, Jay’s CGL journey began, and he hasn’t looked back.

When Jay is not working hard to produce product for clients, he enjoys being outdoors surrounded by nature with his family and dog.

CGL CAD/CAM Team

Jack is currently part of the CAD/CAM team at Merson Group. He works with client drawings creating what they have detailed and has a responsibility to ensure the manufacturability of products and overall end quality of products leaving the premises,

After the completion of his HND in computer aided design at New College Lanarkshire he went onto work as a draughtsman at a welding company. After gaining experience in the industry he joined Merson group.

Jack likes to stay active, plays football and goes to the gym regularly.

CGL CAD/CAM Team

Stephen is part of the CAD/CAM team. He has 30 years of manufacturing and fabrication experience in this sector and has helped develop various CGL projects to date.

After leaving the Royal Air Force with 12 years of service in aircraft engineering, Stephen joined CGL as a sheet metalworker. After working on the shop floor he moved into the office, where he has excelled in his new position.

When not working, Stephen still has an interest in aviation, and has helped with some drone footage for the new CGL website.
